A Message from Our President, Edgar Lugo
It’s been an honor to be part of the leadership team at Firstline Creative & Media, LLC for more than 35 years. In reminiscing about the industry for these decades, it is incredible to see how things have changed and stayed the same. Since the beginning of time, humanity has had an innate desire… a need to communicate. To teach, to motivate, to share an adventure… to tell a story. This has not changed. What has changed, is the functional form of that communication. From the first drawings on a cave wall, clay tablets, papyrus printing press, telegraph, telephone, radio, film and television to the lightning progression of the internet, social media, and now we find ourselves entrenched in the AI Revolution.
When I started in the business, cell phones were just a theory and 35mm slides were how you presented to large groups. We mastered video on 1 inch video tape and shot on cameras that cost more than a car. Film, TV, Radio and Print media were very separate disciplines with their own set of experts. Today, those lines have all but disappeared with the power of today’s digital, computing and software technologies. Today, we hold in our hands, phones more powerful than the room full of computers that sent the first astronauts to the moon. Our interconnectivity is boundless. What an amazing ride to have been part of this convergence and cannot wait for what lies ahead… with the one still most important driving force, humanity’s desire to tell a story.
